Is steam-set hair still raw?

Yes. Steaming is physical, not chemical — heat and moisture reshape the curl without lifting the cuticle, adding anything to the strand, or altering the natural color. Our body wave and Burmese curly are steam-set on a raw base, which is why their pattern is consistent across bundles. The Indian temple hair is not set at all, which is why its pattern varies from bundle to bundle.

How many bundles do I need?

Three covers a full head at 18 inches and under, four past 22. Longer wefts are cut narrower and cover less of the head, so length drives the count more than texture does. Curly textures are denser and often need one fewer. A closure or frontal replaces leave-out and does not reduce the bundle count.

How do I make raw hair last?

Sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner through the mid-shaft and ends only, and air dry wherever you can. Detangle wet, from the ends up. Seal the wefts before install. Sleep in satin. The intact cuticle is the entire reason raw hair lasts, and high heat plus harsh shampoo is what strips it.
