Kinky Curly Clip-In Hair Extensions

Kinky curly clip-ins carry a 3C to 4A coil — tight enough to read as your own hair, loose enough to brush out into a fro. They exist so you can add length to curly hair without straightening it first. Clip them under your own coils and the pattern lines up instead of sitting on top of it.

Here is the trade-off worth knowing before you order. Coily hair shrinks, and this hair shrinks with it. A 16-inch set wears closer to 11 or 12 inches once it is defined and dry, so size up one length from what you think you want. It also needs the most detangling of the six textures — fingers and a wide-tooth comb, conditioner in, from the ends up, never dry.

The set is nine wefts on double-stitched bands with pressure clips: two 9-inch, three 7-inch, two 5-inch and two 3-inch, three clips each, 160 grams in total. Section your own hair horizontally, back-comb a narrow strip at each clip point for grip, and work from the nape up. Ten minutes in, five minutes out, nothing glued or sewn.
