How to choose a closure wig

2x6 or 5x5 closure wig?

A 2x6 closure is a narrow strip, two inches wide and six inches deep, that runs front to back. It gives you a deep, clean middle part and the least lace of any closure to lay, which is why it is the easiest closure wig for a first-timer. A 5x5 is a five-inch square, so the part can move left, right or center and sit further off the middle. Choose the 2x6 if you wear one middle part; choose the 5x5 if you change it.

Natural black or hand-colored?

The natural black units are virgin hair in its own color, so they can be colored darker or lifted by a professional. The raw glueless 5x5 wigs arrive already hand-colored, from champagne and platinum blonde to espresso, chestnut and caramel balayage, so there is nothing to lift or tone at home. Colored hair has been lightened to get there, so it wants color-safe, sulfate-free products and heat kept at 350°F or below.

What length to buy

Length is measured with the hair pulled straight. Straight wears at the number on the label, body wave an inch or two shorter, and deep wave a couple of inches shorter again. The bobs are the lowest-upkeep option of all: short, already cut and light on the head.

What does a closure wig mean?

It means the wig is built around a lace closure: a small piece of lace at the crown with hair hand-tied into it, so the part looks like scalp. Everything else on the cap is wefted hair. You get a realistic part in one area of the head, and none of your own hair has to be left out, pressed or blended.

Which is better, a frontal wig or a closure wig?

It depends on how you wear your hair. A closure wig puts lace only at the crown, so it goes on faster, needs less upkeep at the edges and costs less, and it suits a middle or side part worn down. A frontal wig, also called a lace front wig, runs lace ear to ear, so you can part anywhere along the hairline, show baby hairs and pull the hair back off your face, at the cost of more lace to lay and more care. What type of closure is best for a wig?

How long does a human hair closure wig last?

Do you sell 4x4 closure wigs?

The closure bobs are the short option on this page. For longer hair, the 5x5 gives you an inch more parting room on every side than a 4x4, and the 2x6 gives you a deeper part on less lace.
