Thirteen inches of lace across the hairline and six inches back — 78 square inches, half again as much as a 13x4. That extra depth is what lets a deep side part start further back on the head and still land on lace, and it is why this size is HD only: six inches leaves nowhere for thicker lace to hide. HD sits so close to the scalp that most people never need to bleach a knot or tint the lace.

Loose wave sits between straight and body wave — a soft bend rather than a defined S.
