A 13x6 lace front wig carries thirteen inches of lace across the hairline and six inches of depth behind it — 78 square inches, against 52 on a 13x4. Set the part anywhere inside that rectangle: dead center, deep on the side, or pushed all the way back off the face without a track showing where the lace stops.

Body wave is the most forgiving texture on a big lace piece. A loose S-wave breaks up the light across 78 square inches, so a part that is a half-inch off or a perimeter that has lifted slightly does not announce itself the way it would on straight hair. The trade-off is upkeep of the pattern rather than the lace: heat relaxes the wave, and it comes back with a mousse and an air dry, not with a flat iron. Wash it, scrunch it, leave it alone.
