Orders and payment
How do I place an order?
Pick your product, choose the length and color from the drop-downs on the product page, add it to your bag and check out. If you are buying for a full install, add every piece you need — bundles, plus a closure or frontal — before you check out, so it all ships together. Not sure what to pick? Email help@mayvenn.com before you order and we will help you get it right the first time.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account is worth it though — it is where you see order status, tracking and everything you have bought before, which makes reordering the same length and texture a lot faster. Sign in or create an account.
How do I check my order status or find my tracking number?
Sign in at your account to see live order status, tracking and your full order history. You also get a shipping confirmation email with tracking the moment your order leaves us. If tracking has not moved and you are past the delivery window, email help@mayvenn.com with your order number and we will chase it.
Can I change or cancel my order after I place it?
Email help@mayvenn.com with your order number as soon as possible and we will do what we can. Orders placed before 9:30am PT ship the same business day, so the window is short. Once an order is packed and handed to the carrier it cannot be changed — at that point it falls under our 30-day return and exchange policy.
I entered the wrong shipping address. What now?
Email help@mayvenn.com immediately with your order number and the correct address. If the order has not shipped we can update it. If it has already gone out, we have to wait for the carrier to return it to us before we can resend, so tell us fast.
My order arrived damaged, incomplete or incorrect. What do I do?
Email help@mayvenn.com within your 30-day window with your order number and a photo of what arrived, including the packing slip. Wrong item, missing item or damaged in transit is on us and we fix it — we do not send you through the standard return process for our own mistake.
Do you offer discounts or promotions?
Yes. Sale pricing runs in the Sale collection, and Bundle Deals group the pieces for a full install at a set price. Promo codes go out by email first, so join the list at the bottom of any page if you want first access. One discount code per order.
Shipping and delivery
How long does shipping take?
Bundles, closures and frontals ship Express and arrive in 2–3 business days. Wigs ship in their own protective box and arrive in 4–5 business days. Orders placed before 9:30am PT ship the same business day; orders after that go out the next business day. Rush (overnight) shipping is available at checkout.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on bundles, closures and frontals when those items total more than $120. Below that, and on other product types, the shipping cost is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay. Wigs ship in their own protective box for a small per-wig fee.
Do you ship internationally?
Not right now. Mayvenn ships within the United States only, including Alaska, Hawaii and US territories served by our carriers. If you are outside the US and want to know when that changes, join the email list at the bottom of any page.
Do you offer overnight or rush shipping?
Yes. Rush (overnight) shipping is available as an option at checkout. Choose it before 9:30am PT on a business day and your order goes out that same day. Rush covers transit time only — it does not skip the packing step, and it does not run on weekends or holidays.
When will my order ship?
Orders placed before 9:30am PT on a business day ship the same day. Anything after that, or placed on a weekend or holiday, ships the next business day. You will get a shipping confirmation email with tracking as soon as it leaves us.
Why did my order arrive in more than one box?
Wigs ship in their own protective box so the cap and lace are not crushed by anything packed on top of them. If you ordered a wig alongside bundles or a closure, expect two parcels, and they can arrive on different days. Both tracking numbers are in your account.
My tracking says delivered but the package is not here.
Give it 24 hours — carriers occasionally scan a parcel as delivered a day before it lands, and it is often with a neighbor, at the leasing office or behind a gate. If it still has not turned up after that, email help@mayvenn.com with your order number and we will open a trace with the carrier.
Returns, exchanges and the guarantee
What is Mayvenn's return policy?
You have 30 days from the day your order is delivered to return or exchange it. Every product we sell is covered — bundles, closures, frontals, wigs, clip-ins, braiding hair and crochet hair. Hair you have not touched comes back for a full refund. Hair you have worn comes back for store credit. Full terms are on the returns and exchanges page.
What counts as untouched hair?
Original condition means all of the following: the bundle ties are still on and the hair has not been unravelled; nothing has been cut; no color, dye or bleach has been applied; the lace has not been bleached or tinted; a wig has not been worn; and on a wig that ships with uncut lace, the lace has not been cut. Meet all of those and you get a full refund to your original payment method.
What if I already installed or wore the hair?
It is still returnable. Send it back within the same 30 days and we issue store credit for what you paid for the item, good on anything in the store, whenever you want. Installing it does not void your guarantee — that is the point of it.
How do I start a return or exchange?
Email help@mayvenn.com with your order number and what you are sending back, so we know to expect it. Then ship the hair to: Mayvenn Returns, 245 North Highland NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30307. Use a service with tracking — we can only process what arrives, and tracking is how you prove it did.
Who pays for return shipping?
You do, on both refunds and exchanges. The original shipping charge on your order is not refunded either. We would rather be straight about that up front than bury it — and it is why we would always rather help you choose correctly before you order than process a return afterwards.
How long does a refund take?
Refunds and store credit are issued once the hair reaches us and has been checked. From there, a refund to your original payment method typically posts within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. Store credit is available immediately once it is issued.
Can I return an order I placed before 31 August 2026?
No. Mayvenn ran a clearance while we moved through the last of the previous catalog, and everything bought before 31 August 2026 was sold final sale. Orders placed from 31 August 2026 onward are covered by the 30-day policy.
What is the Mayvenn Guarantee?
It is our promise that you can buy the hair, look at it and install it, and if it is not right you have 30 days from delivery to send it back — untouched hair for a full refund, worn hair for store credit. Every product we sell is covered, with no category exclusions. See The Mayvenn Guarantee.
Our hair
Is Mayvenn hair real human hair?
Yes. Every Mayvenn bundle, closure, frontal and wig is 100% virgin human hair — never blended with synthetic filler. It can be washed, colored and heat-styled exactly like the hair growing out of your head. One product, our crochet boho braids, has a hand-twisted synthetic braid body with human hair curls woven through it, and that is stated plainly on its product page.
What does virgin hair mean?
Virgin hair has never been chemically processed before it reaches us — no perm, no relaxer, no previous dye job. The cuticle is intact and undamaged, which is what lets the hair take color, hold a curl and survive being reinstalled. It is the reason virgin hair costs more than processed hair and lasts several times longer.
Is Mayvenn hair remy hair?
Yes. Our hair is remy grade, which means every strand runs in the same direction with the cuticles aligned root-to-tip. Aligned cuticles are what reduce shedding, stop the hair matting at the nape and give a bundle its lifespan. Hair collected without keeping that alignment tangles within weeks, no matter how good it looks in the packet.
What is the difference between virgin hair and raw hair?
Virgin hair is unprocessed hair that has been steam-processed to set a texture — body wave, deep wave, curly and so on. Raw hair is not processed at all: it is collected from a single donor and sold in its own natural pattern, which is why raw comes in fewer textures, in smaller quantities, and at a higher price. Both are 100% human hair. See Raw Hair Bundles.
Is the hair chemically processed?
No. Our textures are set with steam, not with the harsh chemicals used to force a curl pattern into cheaper hair. Steam-processing is slower and costs more, and it is the reason the curl pattern comes back after a wash instead of dropping out permanently.
Why are your colored and blonde bundles still called virgin hair?
Because they start as 100% virgin human hair before being lifted or toned, rather than starting as synthetic or as previously-dyed hair. Using healthy virgin hair as the base is what lets a #613 blonde survive the lifting process and still hold up to an install. It is not the same product as bleached processed hair sold under a blonde label.
Where does Mayvenn hair come from?
Our hair is sourced through manufacturing partners we have worked with for over a decade, and every lot is checked against one standard: if a stylist would not put it in her own client's head, we do not sell it. That rule has held since 2013. More on the brand is on our About page.
How much hair is in a bundle?
Each bundle is roughly 3.5 ounces (about 100 grams) of hair. Longer lengths are not heavier — the same weight of hair stretched over a longer length looks thinner, which is why you need more bundles as you go longer, not fewer.
Bundles, lengths and quantity
How many bundles do I need?
Three bundles cover most installs. Go with 3–4 for straighter textures and 3 for curlier ones, since curl adds volume that straight hair has to make up with quantity. If you are pairing bundles with a closure, 2–4 is usually enough; with a frontal, 2–3. Add one more bundle if you are ordering 22 inches or longer.
What lengths do you carry?
Bundles run from 10 to 32 inches depending on texture, in two-inch steps. Closures and frontals come in 14 and 18 inches, with some 10-inch options. Wigs, ponytails, braiding hair and clip-ins each have their own length range, listed on the product page.
How is hair length measured, and why does mine look shorter?
Length is measured by stretching the hair straight from the top of the weft to the tip. On wavy, deep wave and curly textures the hair sits well above that number once it is installed and the curl pattern springs back — a 20-inch curly bundle can wear like 16. If you want a curly texture to hang at a certain length, order two to four inches longer than your target.
Should I order all the same length or mix lengths?
Mix them. Ordering three bundles in three ascending lengths — say 16, 18 and 20 — builds a layered, graduated look with the shortest at the crown, and it is how most stylists install a natural-looking sew-in. All one length gives you a blunter, heavier shape, which is the right call for a straight blunt cut.
What texture should I choose?
Choose on two things: the look you want, and how much maintenance you are up for. Straight and yaki straight are the lowest-effort. Body wave and loose wave are the easy middle ground. Deep wave, water wave, curly and kinky curly give the most volume and need the most moisture and detangling. Every product page shows the texture on real installs.
What textures do you carry?
Straight, Body Wave, Loose Wave, Deep Wave, Water Wave, Curly, Kinky Straight and Yaki Straight make up the core eight. Beyond those we carry Afro Kinky Curly, Kinky Curly, Jerry Curl, Spanish Wave and Burmese Curly, plus Ocean Wave, Latin Wave and Beach Wave in braiding hair. Browse them all under Hair Bundles.
Closures, frontals and lace
What is the difference between a closure and a frontal?
A closure covers the crown — typically a 4x4, 5x5, 6x6 or 7x7 inch piece of lace that closes off the top of a sew-in so you do not have to leave your own hair out. A frontal runs ear to ear across the whole front hairline, usually 13x4 or 13x6 inches, which gives you a hairline you can part anywhere and style off the face. Frontals cost more and need more customizing.
What closure and frontal sizes do you carry?
What is the difference between HD lace and transparent lace?
Both are designed to disappear against the scalp. Transparent lace is a light, neutral-toned lace that suits most skin tones and is the more durable of the two. HD lace is thinner and finer, so it melts more convincingly at the hairline — it also tears more easily and needs a gentler hand. Choose transparent for everyday wear and durability, HD when the hairline has to be flawless on camera.
Are the knots pre-bleached?
No. We leave the knots unbleached on purpose so the piece can be customized to your skin tone. Bleaching knots is a chemical process with one right answer per person — done at the factory to a single standard, it looks wrong on most people. A stylist can bleach them in minutes.
Is the hairline pre-plucked?
No. The hairline is slightly less dense than the rest of the piece, but it is not pre-plucked, for the same reason the knots are not pre-bleached — a hairline is personal. Plucking it yourself, or having your stylist do it, is what makes a closure or frontal read as your own hair.
Where can I part a closure or frontal?
Anywhere within the lace. A 4x4 closure gives you four inches of parting space across the crown, enough for a clean side or middle part. A 13x4 frontal gives you the full front hairline to work with, so you can part anywhere across the front and pull the hair off your face.
Can I reuse a closure or frontal?
Not for a second sew-in — take-down is hard on the lace, and a reused piece rarely lays the way it did the first time. The exception is if you use it to build a custom wig, which you can take off and put back on as often as you like. For a fresh install, start with a fresh piece.
Wigs
What types of wigs do you sell?
Glueless wigs, headband wigs, ready-to-wear wigs, U-part wigs, bob wigs, half wigs, 13x6 lace front wigs and full lace wigs — all 100% virgin human hair. Glueless and headband units are the easiest to wear with no adhesive at all; lace fronts and full lace give the most styling freedom and need the most customizing. Browse Human Hair Wigs.
Do I need glue to wear your wigs?
Not for most of them. Glueless wigs hold with adjustable straps and combs, and headband wigs hold with the band — no adhesive, no lace to lay. Lace front and full lace units are designed to be glued or bonded for the most seamless hairline, though many people wear them glueless with an elastic band instead.
Do your wigs need to be customized?
Lace front and 360 units should be: cutting the lace to your hairline, plucking and bleaching the knots is what makes them look like growing hair. Ready-to-wear units need almost nothing — trim the small piece of lace at the closure to match your hairline shape and you are done, since the part and style are already set.
How do I know what size wig to order?
Measure the circumference of your head with a soft tape, around the hairline and above the ears, and check it against the size on the product page. Most of our wigs come with adjustable straps that cover an average range, so an exact match matters less than it does with a fixed cap. If you are between sizes, size up and tighten the straps.
What does wig density mean?
Density is how much hair is on the cap, given as a percentage. 130% reads as natural, everyday fullness. 150% is fuller, and the most popular choice. 180% is dramatic, camera-ready volume. Density can always be thinned out by a stylist, but it cannot be added — so if you are unsure, order the fuller one.
Can I wear a wig if I have long or thick hair?
Yes. Braid your own hair down flat, cover it with a wig cap, and the unit sits over the top. Wigs are one of the better protective styles precisely because your own hair gets a complete break from heat, tension and manipulation while you wear one.
How should I store my wig?
On a wig head or mannequin, or folded back into the box it came in. Storing it on a shaped surface keeps the cap from creasing and stops the hair matting where it presses against itself. Never store it damp, and never leave it balled up in a drawer between wears.
Will my wig shed?
A little, yes — every wig sheds some, just as your own scalp does. Excessive shedding usually traces back to rough detangling, brushing from the root down, sleeping in it, or heat without a protectant. Detangle from the ends up with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, and store it properly, and shedding stays minimal.
Clip-ins, ponytails and braiding hair
What comes in a set of clip-in extensions?
Ten pieces of 100% remy human hair on ultra-thin silicone-lined wefts that lie flat against the scalp, so nothing shows through even in fine hair. Sets come in 16 and 20 inches, in solid shades and hand-painted balayage blends. Browse Clip-In Extensions.
How do I choose the right clip-in shade?
Match the undertone before you match the depth — a black that pulls cool next to warm natural hair is more obvious than being one level off. Compare shades in natural daylight against the mid-lengths of your hair, not the roots. Our shade finder walks through it, and you can email a well-lit photo to help@mayvenn.com and we will call it for you.
Do you have clip-ins for natural or textured hair?
Yes. Our Textured Clip-Ins are made in curl patterns that blend with natural texture rather than requiring you to straighten your own hair to wear them.
Do you sell human braiding hair?
Yes. Our bulk human braiding hair comes in Deep Wave, Water Wave, Ocean Wave, Latin Wave and Beach Wave, in 16, 20 and 24 inch lengths. It is 100% human hair, which means it can be washed, heat-styled and reused in a way synthetic braiding hair cannot — and it does not carry the itch some people get from synthetic fiber.
What is feather crochet hair?
A pre-looped crochet hair made from feather-light human hair, designed to install fast and sit weightlessly. It is a lower-tension protective style than a sew-in and takes a fraction of the install time. Browse Feather Crochet Hair.
Do you sell ponytail extensions?
Yes. Ponytail extensions come in Kinky Curly, Afro Kinky Curly, Kinky Straight and Yaki Straight, in 12, 16 and 24 inch lengths — a full ponytail or a sleek pulled-back look in a few minutes, with no install.
Color and styling
Can I dye or bleach Mayvenn hair?
It depends on the color you bought. Natural Black virgin hair has not been pre-colored and can be dyed or lifted. #27 Dark Blonde and #613 Blonde can take a deposit-only color or a toner but should not be lifted any further. Pre-dyed colors — #1 Jet Black, #2 Chocolate Brown, #4 Caramel Brown and Burgundy — should not be processed again. Always have a professional do the color, and always strand test first.
Can I use heat tools on the hair?
Yes. It is 100% virgin human hair, so blow-dryers, flat irons, curling irons and wands all work exactly as they do on your own hair. Use a heat protectant every single time and keep the temperature moderate — heat damage on extensions is permanent in a way it is not on hair that keeps growing.
How do I keep the curl pattern in a wavy or curly texture?
Wash in cool water, condition generously, and let it air-dry as much as you can. Scrunch a curl cream or leave-in through it while it is damp rather than brushing it out when it is dry. Our textures are steam-set, so the pattern comes back after a wash — brushing it out dry is what loosens it.
Can I tint or color the lace on a closure or frontal?
You can tint the lace to your scalp tone, and many stylists do. Use a lace tint spray or a light foundation dusting rather than hair dye. Note that once lace has been bleached or tinted, the piece no longer qualifies for a full refund under our return policy — it falls under the exchange for store credit instead.
Will the color I see on screen match what arrives?
Close, but screens vary. Every monitor and phone renders color differently, and hair photographs lighter under studio light than it looks in a bathroom mirror. If you are matching an exact shade, email a well-lit photo of your own hair to help@mayvenn.com before you order and we will tell you which shade to buy.
Care and longevity
How long will Mayvenn hair last?
A year or longer with proper care, across multiple reinstalls. What actually determines the lifespan is maintenance, not price: wrapping it at night, washing and conditioning on a schedule, detangling from the ends up, and using a heat protectant. Hair that is never wrapped and always heat-styled dry will not see six months.
How often should I wash my hair extensions?
About once a week, or more often if you use a lot of product or you work out hard. Use a sulfate-free shampoo, work it through the hair in a downward direction rather than piling it up, condition the mid-lengths and ends, and let it dry as much as possible before styling.
How do I stop my extensions tangling and matting?
Detangle from the ends and work upward, with fingers or a wide-tooth comb, never from the root down. Keep the mid-lengths and ends moisturized, since dry hair is what tangles. And wrap it or braid it at night — most matting happens during eight hours of friction against a pillowcase, not during the day.
Can I swim with extensions installed?
Yes, with a bit of prep. Saturate the hair with water and a leave-in conditioner before you get in, so it absorbs less chlorine or salt. Rinse it as soon as you get out, then shampoo, condition and apply a light leave-in. Skipping the rinse is what turns a pool day into a matted week.
How should I protect my hair at night?
Wrap it, braid it, or pineapple it on top of your head, and sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase or in a satin bonnet. Cotton pulls moisture out of the hair and creates the friction that causes tangling. This one habit does more for the lifespan of your hair than any product you can buy.
About Mayvenn
Who is Mayvenn?
Mayvenn is a human hair extension brand founded in 2013 in Oakland, California, and built alongside a nationwide network of more than 50,000 hairstylists — over $35 million of which was paid out to those stylists in commission. In 2024 Marie Claire's Skin & Hair Awards named Mayvenn Best Hair Extensions from a shortlist of more than 600 brands. Read the full story on our About page.
What is Mayvenn's Second Act?
It is the relaunch of the brand in 2026 — a full rebuild of the catalog, the site and the sourcing, after more than a decade in business. The bundles, closures, frontals and wigs that built ten years of five-star reviews are unchanged. What is new is raw hair, HD lace, human braiding hair and crochet, and lace sizes and cap constructions customers have been asking us for.
Do you have a store I can visit?
Not currently — Mayvenn is online only, and every order ships from our facility. Our returns address in Atlanta is a shipping address, not a storefront, so please do not drop returns off in person.
How do I contact customer service?
Email help@mayvenn.com, or use the form on our contact page. We reply within one business day, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm ET. Include your order number if your question is about an order — it usually saves a round trip.
Do you work with stylists or offer a professional discount?
Stylists built this brand and we are rebuilding the program for them now. If you are a licensed professional and want to be first in line when it opens, email help@mayvenn.com with your license number and where you work.
Do you sell wholesale or work with retailers?
Email help@mayvenn.com with your business name, location and the volume you are looking at, and we will route it to the right person. Please do not use the standard support queue for wholesale — flag it in the subject line so it gets to the right desk.
Do you sell synthetic hair?
No. Mayvenn sells 100% virgin human hair. The one exception is our crochet boho braids, where the braid body is hand-twisted synthetic with human hair curls woven through it — and that is disclosed on the product page. Everything else in the catalog is human hair.
No answer matches that. Email help@mayvenn.com and we will answer it directly.
