Our Summer to Fall transition shoot was inspired by photography we were seeing all over Instagram: photos taken during the golden hour- that time when the sun is setting and the lighting is just right. By this time, the daily hustle has resulted in a dewy glow and tousled locks, and the dusky golden sunlight works like a natural filter that puts Snapchat and IG Stories to shame.
Soft, strong, feminine, and fabulous are some of the buzzwords we hoped to invoke with our rendition of this beautiful, and often overlooked moment in everyone’s day.
For lighting and set design, shadow play was a crucial element in creating that cozy, mesmerizing feel for this shoot. It adds that final touch of mystery that represents our ultimate vision: a strong and confident woman comes home and snaps a selfie or two before indulging in a little self care after a busy day.
For hair and makeup we wanted to accentuate natural beauty. 'Youthful, natural, and smoldering, with a pop of highlight' was what we communicated to Oakland based MUA Treday, who is a pro at creating dewy, glowing moments for her canvases. Oakland based hair stylist beyondstandards created effortless celebrity hair, using everything from sleek straight tresses, to messy loose wave bobs, and hydrated deep wave curls. This shoot proved that all our favorite textures can look absolutely effortless. Shop the looks below.
