June Favorites

June Favorites

Summer is finally here! The weather is heating up faster than our travel plans and if you’re anything like me, you’d prefer to be working remote on somebody’s beach. Even if you can’t get away just yet, our roundup of June Favorites will definitely spark some inspiration.

Handmaid’s Tale

Offred and clan are back on June 5 and I couldn’t be more ready. Although our current climate is starting to feel like a real life Republic of Gilead (see next fave for ways to help), this drama is so well done that it’s completely binge worthy. If you have access to Hulu, catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 before the next big debut.

Social Justice (all day, everyday)

I love a good social cause, and there are (unfortunately) always issues to fight for and rights to protect. I’ve been a longtime supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union, aka ACLU, and they help me stay up to date on current happenings. “For almost 100 years, the ACLU has worked to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.” Check out their articles, information, and ways that you can help.

Fun & Funky Nail Art

Creative nail art is one of my kryptonites! Kandi is a longtime legend of the nail game and does everything from sculpting to hand painting. As someone who lives in neutral clothing, fun nails can be a dope source of brightness.

Anti-Chafing Body Balm

Where was this during my trip to Tulum last year? This Anti Chafe Balm has great reviews and is made specifically for those who believe that thick thighs save lives (along with any other body parts that need it). The best part? It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and only $9.99. I’m here for it - and so is my next tropical vacation or heat wave.

Aloe Soothing Gel

This Aloe Soothing Gel is portable and sans stickiness. From days where I've waited too long to reapply sunscreen (yes, you need to wear it), to times where I just want a cooling effect on my face and body, aloe vera is a one-stop-shop.

Inclusive Nude Bandages

Tru-Colour Bandages has a line of skin tone band-aids that are actually inclusive of different shades. These would’ve come in handy during the many times that I broke a nail and had to cover it up before my emergency walk-in appointment! The flexible fabric bandages come in a range of shades and are latex free. Cheers to grown up bandaids!

Outlets with an Auto Shut-Off

Have you ever been in a rush in the morning and couldn’t remember if you turned off your hot tools? This may be the product for you. This Simple Touch Auto Shut-Off Safety Outlet automatically turns off after 30 minutes and is great for people who tend to be absent minded with their electronics, rechargeable batteries, or anyone who’s looking to save some power. They even offer a WiFi compatible version!
