There are so many skin care products out there that it’s hard to keep up. Like most beauty-obsessed girls, I am always on the prowl for a new magical potion to keep my skin clear, youthful and glowing. Needless to say, I was happy to try out the Açai Triple Stem Cell Complex - Sleep Mask by Brazilian Skin when I was sent a gift box from the company a few months ago for a tester.
I’ve tried dozens of different facial cleansers, masks, and moisturizers over the years and continue to switch up my regime. This is encouraged by most skin care experts because as we age, our skin may become immune to certain products. I have extremely sensitive skin so in addition to a regular healthy and balanced diet and exercise routine, I have to be careful with what I use on my face. I cannot use products that contain harsh ingredients, as they’ll irritate my skin further; my skin is also prone to dry out and develop flakes if the ingredients are too rough. Before testing new products, I read all of the ingredients (which I encourage everyone else to do) and follow best practices as stated on the label. The results are in: I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the sleep mask.
The mask was designed for women 30+ and promises to assist in creating ageless skin. Although I am just 27, I don’t think it’s ever too early to play the anti aging game, especially considering the stressors our skin endures such as changing weather, lack of sleep, and other life factors that can negatively impact your skin.
After speaking with Brazilian Skin’s Founder and Managing Partner Wilson Chueire, it’s clear that this is a product that was produced with research and care for overall skin health.
“Brazilian Skin creates skin care formulas that we feel can have a great impact in helping people from the age 30 onward to minimize the signs of aging,” Chueire explained. “Our inspiration for all our products come from Brazil, its culture, lifestyle and natural resources, mainly the Amazon. The Acai Berry is native to Central and South America and is rich in antioxidants.”
Main ingredient: Chinese Basil
The ingredients in the sleep mask prove that the intentions for this product include not only ageless skin, but healthy skin. According to the product description, it was made with the latest stem cell technology to derive powerful actives from Acai Palm, Chinese Basil, and White Oak resource materials. Chueire says that these derivatives impart many benefits for the skin including: the release of toxins, rejuvenation, and anti-aging. The transparent base ingredient is called Baycusan® and it holds and sinks the active ingredients into the skin.
What I loved most about the mask is that it’s not greasy or sticky - which makes it easy to apply, and it doesn’t have an odor - which makes it easier and less funky to to sleep in.
Main ingredient: Acai Stem Cells
One of my greatest hesitations when trying new products on my skin is that it may be rid of ingredients that help treat African-American skin. We have our own set of skin issues that other consumers do not deal with, such as pigmentation challenges. However, Chueire says that his products are all-inclusive.
“Our Phyto Biotic Acai Stem Cell ingredient has strong data in helping repair photo aging damage on the skin, which could be caused by excessive exposure to the sun, which tends to create a different pigmentation on the skin,” he insists. “Whereas we have not seen or conducted any specific research on how that affects Black women’s skin, it helps to reverse photo aging while also delivering other ingredients into the dermis with powerful antioxidant properties, minimizing other aging signs.”
Main ingredient: White Oak
As mentioned, skincare products aren’t supposed to be a “fix”; instead, combined with other proactive measures such as diet and exercise, your skin care regime should enhance the work you are doing to have healthy skin from the inside out.
Chueire agrees, adding: “Wearing a hat whenever directly exposed to the sun light between 10am-4pm, drinking plenty of water, and facial massages can alleviate the tension of the muscles and provide anti-wrinkle benefits on your skin.”

So, how often should you use the sleep mask? “It is suggested to be used daily, but at least a few times a week,” Chuueire says. “For best results the mask should be kept on overnight, its hydroscopic and breathable barrier properties ensure the skin locks in valuable moisture and breathes uninterrupted.”
I personally use the mask about two times a week, and stick to a daily facial cleanser and moisturizer. I always tell people to pay attention to how your skin reacts to a product before settling on the frequency of use. As noted, my skin is prone to dryness, so using too many products at once and too often will exacerbate the problem. For a product that helps with slowing the aging process down, you don’t want to do anything to contradict its purpose!
I recommend this sleep mask for anyone 25+. It’s easy to use, utilizes natural ingredients, and truly helped my skin. Will you give it a try?
