Stylists Dish On Their Most Requested Valentine's Day Hair Looks
One of the most loved (or most hated, depending on who you ask), yet contentious days of the year is arguably Valentine's Day. If you're single, the day is all about actively acting like you could care less about romance and, conveniently, probably forgot about the day altogether. If you're in a relationship, the looming date can put pressure on what you and bae are going to do. Google searches for "last-minute non-boring v-day date ideas" or "quick sexy valentines day hair" fill up your search history and at the end of the day, you'll probably just end up at dinner and a movie.
Whether you're going all out lovey-dovey with bae, or heading out with the girls for a night of Galentine's debauchery, the one thing that will ensure you have a great V-day (at least vanity wise) is a gorgeous hairstyle. We spoke to a few Mayvenn stylists about the most common hair requests they get for Cupid's birthday. Read their suggestions and grab some inspiration!
"A lot of my clients are loving braid styles right now...I'm still getting sooo many requests for Fulani braids" - Kayla from Cincinnati, OH
Fulani braids are the IT hairstyle of the moment. They're classy, unique, and pay homage to our African roots. Making an appointment for these will take some advance planning, but they're perfect for a head-turning night out with your S.O. or with friends.
While it's easy to play it safe, throw some curls in your hair, and call it a day - why not use Valentine's Day to experiment? Red is a hot color, no pun intended, and v-day is the perfect day to rock it. Try wearing a red lace front wig with some waves, or go a bit more muted with burgundy, plum, or a wine shade. "I've been doing a lot of poppin' bright colors lately. Some people want the classic red for V-day, but others are going bold - I booked a client to go green last week! I like the holidays because clients aren't scared to be bolder." -Jada from Lanham, MD
