We’re now well into 2019, and although these first couple months have felt like a lifetime, many of us have already broken our resolutions for the new year. New year, new you who?!
But, all hope is not lost. You can still reinvent yourself! The best way to start is, obviously, with your hair color. You can dye your natural hair, experiment with a wig, or even try some temporary hair color products. Either way, you’ll definitely be unrecognizable in the elevator at work, and maybe you’ll finally start going to yoga!
From subtle to bold, here are 5 great hair color trends to choose from for 2019.

Silver and gray hair has been on-trend for some time now, which is ironic because many women used to try to avoid silvers and grays. But in 2019, people will be rocking a darker “ash gray” look, Cosmopolitan reports. Ash gray might sound drab, but it looks fun and amazing! This is one hair color that you’ll probably want to go for a pro for, but you won’t need to touch up your roots extremely often.

We touched up her root & melted her into this dimensional copper🍁, while still maintaining some of the blonde. We also chopped her into a slightly angled lob! Warm tones + lobs = happppppy Alex 🤩 ___________________________________________ FOR THE STYLISTS: TECHNIQUE/FORMULA: BASE: @davinesofficial equal parts 5.0 + 6.0 + 10v 1:2. LOWLIGHT 1️⃣) 6.44 + 10v 1:2. LOWLIGHT 2️⃣) 6.34 + 10vol 1:2. I alternated by melting these tones into one another, painting just 1 lowlight to the ends, as well as melting the lowlight halfway down and leaving the blonde out. BONUS TIP 🛑 melt your color into conditioner on the ends you are leaving out to get a gradient blend without splotching on the blonde! TONE: emulsify the lowlights into blonde ends for 2mins before rinsing. #regram](https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo2tzMznrDo/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading)

Red hair will be big this year – particularly bold, rich coppers. Copper is a super wearable color, and it works whether it’s in the form of highlights or an all-over color. You can go for a deep cool-toned copper or a warm strawberry copper, depending on the season, your skin tone, or your mood.

Let your inner goth shine. Dark, rich, inky black hair will be in this year. It’s an easy color to achieve – no bleaching required here! – but you’ll need to do it right to make the the color look mature and updated. To soften the harsh color, make sure to add a ton of shine. You can style your hair with waves and curls to lighten up the look, or go all out with a pin-straight, asymmetrical look.

Blondes may or may not have more fun, but honey blonde will definitely bring a little more sweetness to your year. This shade features bright, warm tones that have a golden effect, like that moment just before the sun sets. You can achieve the look by asking for balayage highlights in the form of warm blonde shades. Just make sure you’re ready for the upkeep!
If you’re looking for something a bit bolder, consider orange hair! Colorist Julia Elena told Allurethat she’s been getting a ton of requests for orange hair these days, so orange might just be the new neon green. It’s a brave color and you’ll definitely stand out from the crowd. Just make sure to pick a shade of orange that complements your skin tone and is more edgy than brassy.
What are your hair color #goals for the new year?
